The Legend of The Six Tailed Raijuu

It’s Thursday again. We've finally gotten to number six. Which leaves us with three more to go. And so I bring to you the six tailed Bijuu, Raijuu. In reference to Naruto the six tailed Bijuu ended up being a Slug by the name of Saiken. But in actuality Raijuu or Raiju was a six tailed Weasel.

The Raiju is a legendary creature from Japanese mythology but is also separate from the six tailed Raijuu of the nine tailed beast. The “Raiju” of legend has a body composed of lighting or fire and may be in the shape of a cat, tanuki, monkey or weasel. The form of a white and blue wolf is also common. It may also fly by in a ball of lighting or fire which may have tried to explain the ball of lighting hitting the ground and causing fires.

Raiju is the companion of Raijin, the Shinto god of lightning. While the beast is generally calm and harmless, during thunderstorms, it becomes agitated and leaps about in trees, fields, and even buildings (trees that have been struck by lightning are said to have been scratched by Raiju's claws).

Let me stray off topic a little bit, There was a moment I discussed before about the game maker’s of pokemon actually using mythical creature’s to make some of their pocket sized monster’s. Raijuu just so happened to be turned into the evolved form of everyone favorite bite sized pokemon, Pikachu. Raichu is indeed a weasel with the elemental attributes of lighting. Go figure huh.

Now the Raijuu of the legend of the tailed Bijuu’s is in the form of weasel, has four legs and very sharp claws. Its cry sounds like thunder. Raijuu can release a huge amount of electricity for battle assistance. A species of weasel with golden yellow fur. The whole body’s fur grows upright. Its six tails take a lightning shape.

Amongst the Bijuu their battles have been recorded with the Raijuu with 5 battles at 2 wins and 3 losses. The Raijuu has won against Shukaku and Soukou. And three losses against Houkou, Yamato No Orichi and the Kyubi. Only to be sealed in the thunder shrine.

And with that, I will see everyone next with the Seven Tailed Bijuu who so happens to be in the shape of a badger.
